Why Salvation Matters Today

Life doesn’t always give us a warning.

We make plans. We chase dreams. We work hard to build a better future for ourselves and the people we love. But sometimes, in just one moment, everything changes.

This morning, I received news that shook me.

A fellow board member at a nonprofit I serve on had to make the heartbreaking decision to take her son off life support. He was young— probably in his late 30s or early 40s, and he recently fell ill from an infection. He had a family. He had children. He had a future.

And just like that… he was gone.

This isn’t to scare you. It’s to remind you—gently but truthfully—that tomorrow is not promised. Not to you. Not to me. Not to any of us.

We go through our routines, don’t we? Work. School runs. Family dinners. Maybe a few dreams sprinkled in between. And we assume we have all the time in the world. But the truth is, the only thing we can truly count on is today.

When It’s All Said and Done… What Really Matters?

We spend so much of life acquiring—houses, titles, experiences, accolades. But when we take our final breath, none of those things follow us. The only thing that truly matters is where we go next—and whether we’ll see our loved ones again.

That’s where salvation comes in. It’s not about religion or perfection. It’s about choosing a relationship with Jesus Christ—the one choice we can make today that secures our eternity.

Accepting Him means peace in the face of uncertainty. It means knowing that even if life takes an unexpected turn, we have hope. It means we don’t have to fear death, because we know there’s more on the other side.

Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late

If you’ve never made the decision to follow Jesus… or maybe you’re not sure where you stand with God—this is your moment. Don’t wait for a crisis. Don’t assume you’ll have more time.

And once you do, share it. With your spouse. With your children. With the people in your life. Help them understand that salvation is the greatest gift we could ever receive—and the only thing that truly lasts.
